Paese che vai, tracce che trovi – workshop

The intensive residential workshop is a journey of knowledge and exploration of the relief printing technique. We will do it in close contact with Monteferrante, through forays into the small ethnographic museum of the town and observation of the environmental context. The course is aimed at an adult audience for ten participants.
Linocut printing, together with the fascination that comes from experimenting with various supports and carving materials, will offer us a wide range of expression to test the matrices and develop a unique and personal graphic story of the place
where we are. In this way, thanks to gouges, inks and impressions, we will learn to transfer the sketches and drawings collected during the residency onto paper.
The sign of an old grocery store, a sign on the wall, a carved door, up to a pair of old pliers, are some examples of a composite and vital set of tools, objects of use and clues that welcome the memories and habits of a place, “bringing out” the town. “Paese che vai, tracce che trova” is an invitation to discover them, interpret them, and reveal them on a printed sheet. The illustrations will then be collected in a shared manifesto.
