This month we are happy to present a selection of illustrators and illustration projects from our People of Print membership community. From screenprinted gig posters, to fashionable sweatshirts and print exhibitions, our members have turned their unique illustrations into a variety of tangible outcomes.

Sebastian König: Bauhaus NowSebastian Koenig created this series of illustrations for Bauhaus Now magazine, which was published to celebrate 100 years of the Bauhaus movement. The illustrations accompanied an article about how modern education has been inspired by the legacy of the Bauhaus movement.
Josephine Rais: Personal IllustrationsBesides her client work, illustrator Josephine Rais also conducts a variety of personal illustration projects. She recently decided to produce a series of five limited art prints which are printed on an indigo printer with special indigo paper. These are really important to her as they provide a way to express her opinions, interests and humour.
AF Illustrations: Digital PortraitsDigital Portraits is a series of digital illustrations drawn on top of photographs by illustrator Antonia Figueiredo. “It’s a fun way to look and interact with the photos of people and places” states Antonia. She scrolls through her Instagram feed to find images that she feels inspired to illustrate, and then appropriately credits her source. This process has changed the way she looks at her feed, as she now looks for inspiration whilst scrolling, and views it as a chance to recreate something fun and fresh.
Charlotte Martin: Means of Transport Around the WorldAs a transport enthusiast, illustrator Charlotte Martin decided to focus a part of her screenprinting work on the different modes of transport around the world. Charlotte drew the famous London Routemaster, the Hong Kong “Ding Ding” (Electric tram), a Swiss cable car in Verbier and the Lisbon tram. Charlotte states: “I find transport links a big part of a city identity and I love how it connects people together”.
Ana Duje: Flower Power Giclée PrintsFlower Power, is a series of two character illustrations by Argentinian illustrator Ana Duje. These bold, playful and geometric illustrations have been turned into a set of A3 Giclée prints on archival Hahnemühle paper. They are limited to an edition of 50, and signed and numbered by the artist.
Jill and Gill: R E N A I L S S A N C EIllustration duo Jill and Gill were commissioned by Andrea Horan, Tropical Popical owner, to create a limited edition sweater for the Tropical Popical and the National Gallery of Ireland exhibition R E N A I L S S A N C E. The duo focused on Countess Markievicz, an iconic Irish revolutionary, nationalist, suffragist, socialist and first female politician ever. “We used a little artistic licence within the illustration and created our interpretation of the Countess if she was around today and hanging out at Tropical Popical with a leopard print jacket and a pair of airmax” state the illustrators.
The screenprinted sweater is currently for sale in the National Gallery of Ireland gift shop and the Tropical Popical website.
Sarah Bissell: Between Lands ExhibitionThis set of illustrations, Between Lands, looks at the mental condition derealisation. The illustrations, which were turned into Riso prints, were exhibited at the Whitespace gallery in Edinburgh in July as part of a group show. Having suffered from derealisation as a symptom of anxiety and depression, Sarah created the illustrations to capture the otherworldly feeling that she experienced. The illustrations are constructivist and collaged in style, characteristic of her signature aesthetic.
Sandrine Anne Sautejeau: Estudio Estéreo – Poster Illustration SeriesEstudio Estéreo is a Chilean concert series created by Fauna Producciones featuring acoustic and indie acts in Santiago, Chile. A series of posters illustrated by Sandrine Anne were used to promote the 2016/17 shows of artists including José González, Kings of Convenience and Cat Power. The illustrations all include representations of a landscapes, duotones and the use of textures made from dots and lines. Some of the posters were screenprinted, using only 1 colour on coloured paper in order to create a duotone effect.
Gianpaolo Fallani: Vertical and Lateral Thinking Festival by Lucio SchiavonLucio Schiavon is a Venetian illustrator and graphic designer. Among the several screenprinted works made in collaboration with Fallani Venezia, this project was dedicated to the Vertical and Lateral Thinking imaginary Festivals. The illustrations come from Gianpaolo’s diaries, which were then turned into three colour screenprinted posters. “Seeking a synthesis that winks to the oriental style, I decided to set this imaginary festival in Japan translating the title too… I chose to deceive the viewers mind by placing imaginary dates and venues to make this operation even more absurd” states the artist.
