One block colour can make such a difference. This installation created by the multidisciplinary team of interior designers, architects, art directors and graphic designers called (fos) who are based in Madrid and Barcelona has illuminated the front of a restaurant in Madrid and ‘gives a visual perception of a beam of light.’ (fos) and its namesake installation produce fun through simplicity and create a complete user experience. Fos is translated in English as light in Greek, which reflects the focus of their first installation perfectly, as well as creating an excellent piece of self promotion.

This installation was in place for 4 days and nights, formed by the use of yellow duct tape and painted decorative items with additional pineapples and a lamp put in place to create the illusion of an artificial light shining. ‘The tape covered both horizontal and vertical surfaces creating a skin which followed the beam’s shape. The color covered the items only where the light fell, regarding the front view.’ With its almost cartoon like approach there was also plenty attention to detail with the fragmented light and perspective forcing interaction from the public and brightening the grey streets, even from a distance.
