The Human Printer

posted by Marcroy April 29, 2013

The Human Printer is an ongoing project by Stinsensqueeze ( STSQ ), initially set up 2009 by Louise Naunton Morgan and having set up Stinsensqueeze together with Stina Gromark, the project is now run by STSQ. Unlike any other printer the human printer creates unique, individual images each time it prints. Following the same process as a digital printer, the human printer generates the printed product by hand. Throughout the printing process the human printer assumes the role of the machine and is therefore controlled and restricted by the process of using CMYK halftones created on the computer.

In March this year The Human Printer was invited to Format13, the International Photo- graphy Festival in Derby, During the four day long opening weekend they collaborated with The University of Derby for live printing. As an updated of the HP 1.1, HP 1.2 was released, which creates various prints out of the same image, to see the difference the the hand printed technique gives.

As a part of the project The Human Printer also takes orders, upload your image, select colour and the Human Printer will get back to you with a quote.
