Derby Book Festival

The Derby Book Festival is back, with an incredible summer programme of events, including talks and workshops from authors, thinkers and creatives offering something for audiences of all ages and interests.
The Summer Festival, which will be held from Friday 22 May to Sunday 31 May, will include over 70 book-related events for all ages and interests in venues across the city including QUAD, Derby College, Derby Theatre and Museum of Making.
Presenting a broad, diverse programme which attracts internationally renowned writers, poets, historians, politicians, broadcasters, illustrators, storytellers and musicians, whilst also providing support and opportunities for local authors and those taking their first steps towards publishing.
Alongside this, the community programme provides creative opportunities, including the Flash Fiction Writing Competition, with this year’s theme ‘Hope’, and the Derby Children’s Picture Book Award.
The Festival is funded by Arts Council England and the University of Derby with sponsorship from several local businesses and individuals
