A little bit of history
For more than 12 years, Print Workers Barcelona has been promoting screen printing through courses and the extensive catalog of artists in its art gallery. Give Print a Chance is the ultimate expression of this commitment to bring screen printing to the general public as an art as democratic and accessible as it is dazzling.
Located on Pl. John Lennon in Barcelona’s charismatic Gràcia neighbourhood, the name of this annual screen printing event in Barcelona came about easily and almost naturally. What better name than Give Print a Chance in homage to the song Give Peace a Chance by the legendary Liverpool musician?
About the market and the line-up of artists
Give Print a Chance is a great small-format marketplace. Thus, in 2025, the total visitor flow was approximately 1,100 people. In 2024, 900 people. And in 2023 and 2022, it was approximately 1,100 people and 800 people, respectively. With that, we are very happy to have established our proposal after missing out during the pandemic and very excited with this 11th edition.
The market, like the Print Workers Barcelona project, has always had an international vocation. And just as the prints in the Print Workers gallery catalogue are sent all over the world, the market participants are usually local and international artists in equal parts.
Over the course of 10 editions, international screen printing artists such as Aude Carbone (France), Oli Fowler (UK), Elisa Talentino (Italy), Antighost (Germany), Tind (Greece), Mirjam Dijkema (Netherlands), Mandy Doubt (UK), Olivier Le Zizien (France), Ofycina Peryferie (Poland), Ileana Rovetta (Portugal), Rat Trap (Colombia) or The Fingersmith Letterpress (Singapore) have shared space with local artists such as Miguel Bustos, Error Design, Serigrafia Monoestereo or Jan Barceló, among many others.
Non local artists that participate have free accommodation at Casa Jam Barcelona. They stay for free at this emblematic slow tourism hostel in the Gràcia neighbourhood. And in exchange, through the Print Workers commission, they deliver graphic works to Casa Jam to decorate its walls.
The market is held in three different sales and exhibition spaces: the Coworking space (usually occupied by creative freelancers), the Workshop (usually used for courses and printing for artists) and the Living Room (used for small exhibitions and a relaxation space for coworkers).
Three sales and exhibition spaces for this annual celebration of screen printing in Barcelona.
In addition to the market, the public can enjoy the prints sold at the Print Workers Gallery, which features a fantastic catalogue of screen prints from over 150 local and international screen printing artists.
Each print is part of a signed and numbered handmade edition. As they are handmade works, the prints have small differences between them. They are originals inside an edition!
And in the unusual setting of the Studio’s loft, the Print Workers collection of “máculas” and test prints is also presented to the public. Unique, out-of-print pieces that reflect the day-to-day life in a screen printing workshop. And that refer us to the error as an essential part of the creative process. These prints are also part of the catalogue of Print Workers and they are also for sale.
If you visit Barcelona for Christmas you should know that…
Give Print a Chance is a must for lovers of illustration, design and 100% handmade gifts with free admission.
And if you want to attend as an audience and need accommodation, Casa Jam Barcelona also offers you a discount.
So you can enjoy this event focused on screen printing in Barcelona. A city that you will love.
