INTRODUCTION TO BOOKBINDING 3: Round-Back Case Bindings

Suitable for beginners or those who have completed Introduction to Bookbinding 1 & 2. All tools and materials provided.

Learn how to create handcrafted books from experts at the London Centre for Book Arts.

During this workshop participants will learn how to create by hand a classic “hardback” notebook – a full cloth-covered case bound book with a rounded spine, otherwise known as a round-back case binding.

These books are ideal for presenting work, sketchbooks, gifts, or as the basis for artist books.

On completion of the workshop participants will leave with their own hand bound book and the skills to make more at home using minimal equipment.

Introduction to Bookbinding 3 is the last in a three-part series of introductory bookbinding workshops at London Centre for Book Arts. You are encouraged, but not required, to take all three workshops in order. For a complete beginner, taking all three workshops in order will give you a good foundation in bookbinding.
