Debuting at Ex Leopoldine municipal space, Florence, on May 24 and 25 2025 is TAM; a brand new festival celebrating independent publishing and illustration. TAM will encompass a market hosting publishers and illustrators from Italy and Europe, informative and engaging talks, and free creative workshops (such as screen printing, sculpture, letterpress) for adults and children.
The festival puts Florence on the map as a place that is thriving with opportunity for independent publishers, illustrators, and designers, encouraging collaborations and forming a network for designers both nationally and internationally. TAM takes its name from the word ‘tham’, which in Etruscan means ‘to build, to found’. Starting from the earliest historical evidence of Tuscan territory, the Etruscans were cultural innovators, giving birth to a civilisation based on art, conviviality, and freedom. Taking inspiration from these cultural roots of Tuscany, TAM offers a contemporary community initiative of an international nature.

The EX Leopoldine hall is an ideal location for the project, full of history, stunning architecture, and perfect location in the city. Throughout the weekend, there is also the opportunity to network and explore through a map of the neighbourhood, highlighting all of the services and activities that are involved in the festivities (grocery stores, bars, bookshops, hostels, clubs, and public parks).
A complimentary catalogue will also be available throughout the event which will showcase projects from those exhibiting at the fair (with current names including Wobby Club, Atelier Quintal, and Todomodo). The proceeds from the catalogue will be divided between the exhibitors themselves, and not the organisation, highlighting TAM’s focus on supporting creatives. Visitors will also be able to discover more about those exhibiting through a series of talks and interviews, further encouraging the comparison and exchange of ideas which are the basis of the event.
The event has free admission.
