The famous work of Tom Eckersley, one of the most influential graphic designers of the last century, is being celebrated with a new public exhibition at The London College of Communication. To celebrate a century since his birth, the exhibition displays iconic poster designs from the 1940s to the 1980s. His simple designs with punchy uses of colour, shape and text seem effortless in style and still astonishing fresh even with many over 40 years old. The exhibition is running from the 11-29th January, as the work makes a rare public appearance from the University of the Arts London Archive, so see it whilst you can!
Along with Eckersleys work, a cohort of LCCs design students and staff will also be exhibiting their limited edition letterpress and screen-prints, with designs specifically inspired by his work.
