Print-lovers this is the place for you. We all know about the wonderful, fascinating paper textures that G.F.Smith Papers produce, and would give anything to get our hands on some gorgeous samples showcasing some beautiful printing techniques right? This week we’re highlighting one our newest People of Print Members, Benwells, a printing house located in SE1 that began as a silk-screen printer, then called BB Benwell and was set up by Basil Benwell in 1966. Their journey began with creating high-quality corporate stationery for prestigious clients and slowly began to build a reputation in the design industry for turning great ideas into print.

As they carved their way into the industry and became more successful, they forged their partnership with foil blocking and embossing specialists J&R Sebard. This closeness resulted in our two companies joining forces in 1995 to become Benwell Sebard Ltd.

These guys have an impressive nine presses and a very equipped skillset to use a variety of stunning printing techniques ranging from foil-blocking, embossing, die-cutting, commercial printing, packaging, wedding stationery, litho-printing and even bespoke projects. Benwells produce exceptional, high-quality work with a clear attention to detail, showcasing their in-depth experience in what they’re doing. Plus so many options to choose from in terms of printing techniques and print finishes and paper stocks, you’d be silly not to check these guys out. Also if you’re worried about a minimum high print run, not to worry, Benwells has a low print run so you can bring your project whether it be for your independent brand or simply a bespoke project to life.
