Posterzine®️: A Fold-Out Celebration of Creativity, Print, and Global Collaboration

posted by Marcroy April 16, 2025

What started as a unique design experiment and supplement to Print Isn’t Dead™ magazine has grown into an internationally recognised platform for artists, illustrators, designers and brands. Posterzine®️ — the A4 publication that folds out into an A1 poster — is now over 100 issues deep and continues to champion creativity and print culture like no other. With a blend of bold design, thoughtful interviews, and tactile production, Posterzine has become a collectible, a talking point, and for many, an essential part of their print-loving life.

The Beginning: Print Meets Editorial Innovation

Posterzine was born in 2015, originally envisioned as a way to combine editorial content with beautiful poster design. The debut issue, featuring Berlin-based design legend Eike König, set the tone for what was to come — bold, design-led storytelling in a tactile, fold-out format. The goal was simple: celebrate the people behind the work, and do it through a medium that people could hold, unfold, and display.

Each issue is a curated monograph focusing on one artist, designer, or studio, offering an in-depth interview on one side and a poster artwork on the other. Printed by our trusted partners Pressision Ltd on G.F Smith Naturalis paper and more recently Mohawk Options, every edition embodies our commitment to quality, collectibility, and creativity.

Creative Icons & Global Voices

Since its launch, Posterzine has featured over 100 unique creatives, capturing a snapshot of contemporary visual culture. Among the highlights:
Erik Spiekermann — the German typographer and author (Issue 35)
Kelly Anna — known for her energetic, empowering illustrations (Issue 55)
Marylou Faure — Parisian illustrator with a playful, bold style (Issue 46)
Murugiah — UK-based artist blending surrealism and psychedelia (Issue 87)
Zipeng Zhu — NYC designer championing vibrant maximalism
Stefan Sagmeister — world-renowned designer and visual philosopher
Tuyo — Barcelona-based creative known for intricate, abstract compositions (Issue 102)
Yarza Twins — London studio pushing experimental design boundaries (Issue 38)
LE GUN — artist collective exploring narrative illustration (Issue 49)

These are just a few of the creatives who have helped shape the voice of Posterzine — a diverse and dynamic chorus of visual talent from across the globe.

Posterzine on Tour

Posterzine has never stayed still. Over the years, we’ve showcased our work at art book fairs and festivals across the world — from London, Glasgow, and Brighton to New York, Dubai, Vienna, Italy, and China. We’ve supported events like Forward Festival, OFFF, and Birmingham Design Festival, standing proudly as advocates for creative print culture wherever the road (or suitcase) takes us.

Where to Find Posterzine

Our global stockist network is just as passionate about print as we are. Some of our favourite places to find Posterzine include:
Issues (Canada)
Athenaeum Nieuwscentrum (Amsterdam)
MagCulture & Cuemars (London)
Stylistic (Belper)
Colours May Vary (Leeds)

We’re also stocked in several university and public libraries, ensuring students and researchers can explore the world of contemporary visual culture through real, printed matter.

Expanding Our Reach

As we look ahead, we’re proud to announce the expansion of Posterzine into the US market through a licensing partnership with Print Design Academy. This new chapter allows us to bring the Posterzine format to a broader North American audience while continuing to collaborate with the international creative community.

We’re also experimenting with HP Indigo digital printing technology to launch a brand new product line: A2 Posterzine Minis. These compact editions retain the essence of Posterzine — premium design and print — but in a smaller, more accessible format. They’re ideal for new collaborations, retail bundles, and wider distribution, and they mark the beginning of our next phase of experimentation.

What’s Next?

The next chapter for Posterzine is already unfolding:
• Posterzine+: A premium subscription tier with behind-the-scenes extras, exclusive prints, and more.
• Digital Archive Access: We’re developing digital downloads of back issues to give international readers an easier way to access our full catalogue.
• More Collaborations: From music legends to cultural icons, we’re working on new partnerships — including special editions like our collaboration with Everything Jazz (Universal Music).
• Bigger Reach: We’re connecting with new stockists, creative hubs, and print advocates to grow our global presence even further.

Thank You

None of this would exist without the incredible community that surrounds us. From the artists who’ve graced our pages to the fans who’ve unfolded each issue with care — thank you. Posterzine is powered by passion, print, and people, and we can’t wait to show you what’s coming next.
