In the fast-moving world of print production, finishing is often the differentiator between “good” and “exceptional”. That’s exactly the perspective being taken by POP partner member, Pressision, as they expand their in-house capabilities with a significant new finishing system.
Leeds-based Pressision has installed a Horizon SPF-200L bookletmaking system, supplied by Intelligent Finishing Systems (IFS). The strategic move responds to growing client demand for stitched booklets, shorter runs, versioned content, and high-pagination formats, all whilst reducing reliance on external finishing and further enhancing turnaround speed.

Pressision operates a mixed press house, offset and digital, producing high-end brochures, creative print jobs, packaging and marketing materials for premium brands, design agencies and publishers.
The challenge, as Managing Director James Taylor points out, is that finishing can become a bottleneck: “Demand for shorter runs, versioned brochures, and high-pagination booklets is rising…”
By choosing the Horizon SPF-200L, Pressision is positioning itself to deliver that demand more efficiently. The system boasts the ability to produce up to 4,500 booklets per hour, it supports formats from CD size up to A4 landscape, and features a large icon‐based touchscreen for easier operation.
The benefits for Pressision’s workflow
Automation & reliability:
The system integrates with Pressision’s existing Horizon finishing line (including the BQ-500 PUR binder and HT-300 Ice trimmer) which makes the new addition a natural extension rather than a stand-alone bolt-on.
Faster setup, less downtime:
With operator‐friendly controls and repeatable accuracy, Pressision expects quicker changeovers between different formats and fewer disruptions in a busy production environment.
Reduced outsourcing:
By bringing previously external finishing tasks in-house, Pressision aims to shorten lead times, improve cost-effectiveness and free up press time for new jobs.
Future-proofing versioned work:
With multi-version, short run and high pagination jobs becoming more common, having a flexible finishing system allows Pressision to continue evolving with customer requirements.

Pressision’s investment in the Horizon SPF-200L is more than just a new machine, it’s a strategic signal. It says: “We are ready for the next wave of print demands.” For POP members and anyone in the print finishing-ecosystem, it’s a reminder that staying ahead means thinking beyond the press: to output, versions, turnaround, finishing, and ultimately, the full stack of print delivery.
