Guerreroprojects (Nancy Guerrero) is a Chilean illustrator, artist and printmaker running her own printing studio LA MELANGERIE in Paris. As a new People of Print Member, what caught our eye was Guerrero’s creation of a bunch of characters inspired by vintage advertising and old popular cartoons, with her work being showcased globally in exhibitions and other displays.
Her universe moves around a figure with a frozen smile. A simple character, dumb and ambivalent that is embodied both in the Satyre. It acts on the interpretation of popular images as a « counterfeit». Barcelona, Paris, London, Belgium, Japan, Ireland, United States, Canada and Chile are some of the cities and countries where her work is continuously exhibited in.
Whilst exploring her love of vintage cartoons, Guerrero also began to explore her love of printmaking, resulting in the creation of her new brand named Tote shop. TOTESHOP provides printing services and collaborates with others brands and artists around the world. In France, TOTESHOP collaborated with artpress, Multiple Art Days, Les Puces de l’illustration, Print Van Paris, CNEAI, le Théâtre de Belleville, Slow Galerie and many more. We’re excited to see what Guerrero does next!
