Basingstoke-based printers, The Liquorice Press, recently had the pleasure of creating packaging to showcase Gmund Hemp, the latest addition to G . F Smith’s Collection.
The Liquorice design team worked closely with their printers to produce the best results for the stock. The 100% Hemp product is a strong, durable stock and is a sustainable alternative to conventional paper made from wood; resource-saving, high-quality, durable, and recyclable. The stock has a higher tensile, tear and wet strength than conventional cellulose fibres so it is a beauty to letterpress, blind-deboss and foil! Due to its stronger fibres one can really punch the stock to get a crisp finish on the design. The Liquorice Press have shown this with their hemp leaf blind deboss, with fantastic results!
“It is a great stock to be let loose on and perfect for environmentally conscious packaging,” comment their Designer, Laura Powe. “We’re very pleased with the results, this is a great addition to our packaging design and print portfolio”.
The Liquorice Press embrace both traditional and cutting-edge techniques to produce exceptional printed pieces for their clients, turning great ideas into beautiful reality. They thrive on variety, offering services covering everything from design for print, web design and traditional letterpress, to the latest technologies in small and large format digital printing.
“We have had the pleasure of producing some beautiful work, in particular packaging, over the years.” Commented Robin Escott, owner of The Liquorice Press, “The beauty that our Designers are working alongside our Printers to design and create packaging, with all the years of knowledge of print, is an added benefit to our customers”.
