Caitlin Harding, also known as sharksinthebath, is a Bournemouth-based printmaker and illustrator. She recently finished her degree in Illustration, graduating from Arts University Bournemouth.
Caitlin was first introduced to printmaking was when studying for her A-Levels. However, for the first two years of her degree she created her illustrations using digital methods. It was during one of the lockdowns at the end of her second year that Caitlin picked up her carving tools again, and the rest is history. Since then, she has been working at improving her relief printing abilities, combining this with her skills in digital media.
Her work takes inspiration from the natural world, spiritualism, stories, folklore, and the mythical and mystical. Now that she has finished university, Caitlin is seeking out a tattoo apprenticeship to learn more about the art of tattooing, keen to bring the two arts together to create something unique and exciting. Alongside this, she plans to build up a freelance illustration career creating her illustrations and relief prints, and, most importantly, doing what she loves.
