Printed Matter, Inc. is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the production, distribution and understanding of artists’ books and experimental publishing.

Founded in 1976, Printed Matter supports artists and publishers through exhibitions, distribution, events and international art book fairs. The organisation runs two of the most influential publishing events in the world: the LA Art Book Fair and the NY Art Book Fair, bringing together artists, independent publishers, institutions and audiences interested in contemporary print culture.

Their fairs provide a vital platform for artists’ books, zines, photobooks and independent publications while supporting dialogue and experimentation across global publishing communities.
