SMUDGE is an exclusive new stamping foil from Foilco, formulated to give a luxurious matt black finish with superior scratch and rub resistance not commonly found in matt foils.
Standard matt foils often do not have the protective layer that gloss foils characteristically contain. This can lead to smudging or marking on the sheet of paper. However, SMUDGE has a metallic base layer that avoids this problem.
The idea for this forward-thinking foil was born after the team were approached by a market-leading fragrance brand who were looking for a matt stamping foil that was truly durable, after they came across some issues when using a competitor’s pigment foils. Working closely with the brand’s manufacturing team, Foilco addressed the issues and created something unique for the market. The resulting foil not only looks incredibly slick, but solves the print problem, and has strong environmental credentials as it is re-pulpable and recyclable.
