Shoulder to Shoulder Stronger Together is a new letterpress print by TypographHer, created for the Printmakers Against Racism global virtual art sale to support the fight against systemic racial injustice. TypographHer, aka Nicole Arnett Phillips, is a letterpress printer who works from her studio in New Zealand on publishing, typographic and printmaking projects.
The 300mm x 300mm artwork was printed on Nicole’s 1872 Albion Press with rubber-based white ink onto 300gsm colourplan paper, with all proceeds donated to Black Minds Matter UK.
“I believe everyone should have access to quality mental health services – race and cost should never be barriers to mental wellness. I have anxiety, my husband has depression and we have lost 3 loved ones to suicide and overdose in recent years. So I chose this particular organisation to support with my print because I admire their mission to provide counselling and mental health resources to the black community.”
All prints sold will be posted on the 3rd of August. Postage costs will be deducted from the sales income and the proceeds will be donated to Black Minds Matter.
