Printmaker Elyse DeLisle began her venture into printmaking in her home studio in Melbourne, Florida. Shortly thereafter, she converted a 1986 Avion travel trailer, outfitting it with desk, storage for tools, and the wares to run a small printmaking studio that now travels across the United States.
Elyse has a passion for linoleum printmaking, and takes inspiration from the outdoors and natural landscape of the U.S. to create location specific prints. Her process begins by working fully immersed in outdoor, wide open spaces, using, pencil, ink, paint, or anything else at hand. Her work is then scaled and transferred to block, where it is carved and hand-pressed in her mobile studio. Through sharing her printmaking process, Elyse hopes to create awareness, conservation and caring for outdoor, wild spaces.
She states: “I’m constantly seeking new ways to share ideas through my sketchbook, connect people with the outdoors through print, and celebrate all of the unique ways that print can be created.”
