After 5 years of collaborative working Catarina Vasconcelos and Margarida Rêgo have officially opened their own studio. Ilhas, which is Portuguese and translated as islands in English lends itself to the idea that this studio is one of a collection/group but individual and effective on its own, both Catarina Vasconcelos and Margarida Rêgo work on their own and together which is reflective of ‘islands’, as well as the studio being split between both London and Lisbon.
The publication Cine Qua Non is a bilingual publication (Portuguese/English) and is an arts magazine of the University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies. This publication is presented as both an online and a printed edition. This artistic magazine is a collection of movements in written form that freely crisscross reflections, reviews or essays; movements that relate music to visual arts, dance to theatre, cinema to literature. With its playful and explorative design there is a variety of visual content and information throughout.
