RUDE x Workspace Mural

Rude is first and foremost, a London based illustration, animation & product studio run by creative duo Rupert and Abi. Secondly, they’re a brand that was chosen by our team to be a part of our curated marketplace — Department Store. We chose them based on their popping print work showcasing a range of inspirational typographic sayings illustrated beautifully in their iconic playful, colourful style.

Rude opened their doors in 1998 and have since grown into a talented print-based art studio, with a great client list over the past 20 years including British Airways, Absolut, BBC and Veolia. Rude’s team are a bunch of talented, trained graphic designers. Their passion for print and applied art began with a collection of screen printed t-shirts which later developed into bespoke product collections, which you can shop in our store! These days Rupert specialises in hand-drawn fonts and bespoke artwork whilst Abi heads up mural commissions, their animation department and all their product commissions.

Their latest project consists of the Workspace Mural Wood Green in London. They were kindly commissioned by Workpace to create a large mural at The Chocolate Factory in Wood Green in London. Painted over 3 weeks in June the RUDE team set about painting around all sides of an upper floor courtyard, watch the film below!
