Felix Green

Working simply with pencils, pens and paper, Felix Green is a traditional illustrator based in London. His distinctive style lends itself to his influences of nature, architecture and the intricacies of other cultures (alongside his love of psychedelic music and its subsequent art scene). His highly symmetrical drawings are bold in their subject matter with their fierce female figures, skulls and lions, yet beautifully delicate in their detail. Felix once read that ‘there is beauty in symmetry’ but this is not necessarily his opinion. He believes that symmetry is easy to take in at a glance but if you look at it closely you can see a deeper meaning.

With a love of drawing that came from an early age, Felix told us:

“I have always loved drawing. When I was young my babysitter drew me a picture of Slimer from Ghostbusters. I couldn’t believe that you could just sit and draw a picture into existence! It seemed so exciting and since then I have always been drawing”

And it’s extremely hard to believe, but he failed art at school and was strongly advised not to pursue it as a career. After going on to study photography at University, he soon fell out of love with it, returned to his illustrative roots and moved to London three years ago.
