It’s been a very good start to 2016 but before we let go of the previous year completely, People of Print would like to take the opportunity to present you the round-ups that cover a whole lot of inspiration. Adidas named Friday 6th November 2015 as #adidastracksuitday and they were inviting everyone to get involved. It was truly the celebration of the tracksuits ongoing significance in sport, style and culture and we were very lucky to have hand screen-printed their lovely tracksuit boxes!

Alan Kitchings A-Z of Letterpress: Founts from The Typographic Workshop
In collaboration with Pentagram’s Angus Hyland, graphic designer, typographer, and letterpress practitioner Alan Kitching released his latest publication dedicated to the huge wood-letter fount collection from his Typography Workshop in April 2015. The book features a total of 1,352 illustrations, displayed letter by letter, with an intro by John L. Walters of the highly-acclaimed Eye Magazine.

Alan Kitching On Press
Besides the beautiful publication, ‘Alan Kitching on Press’ was an inspiring exhibition displaying the charming work created by letterpress practitioner Alan Kitching. It explored the relationship between the newspaper and printer and was centred around the typographic experiments.

Dentsu x Mainichi | Print You Can Plant
‘The Green Newspaper’ was a collaborative project between Japanese publisher Mainichi Newspapers and advertising agency Dentsu Tokyo. The newspaper is made of paper laced with Japanese flower seeds and was created with an aim to help educate its readers about the glory of greenery.

Element 002
Last year we published the glorious ‘Print Isnt Dead Element 002’ and we had the Heretic trio design and hand-pull each of the 500 limited edition covers. This particular issue focuses on DIY, self-publishing and counter-culture, with articles and interviews with Suicide Girls, the incredible 60s counterculture Oz magazine and much, much more.

Element 003
We also released the third issue of Print Isnt Dead and it came with an option of a personalised cover with your name printed on the spine. What’s more, we asked some seasoned typographical experts and design gurus to create a limited-edition cover each. We also used the latest HP Indigo technology to print solid white ink onto quality black Fedrigoni paper. Oh, and have we mentioned that we also included 6 pages of printed Grafik content?

Limited Edition Book Sleeves for the People of Print Book by Fatherless
We were very lucky to have collaborated with ‘Fatherless’, a group of passionate US-based printmakers, to produce a set of limited edition hand-printed wooden book sleeves for our first-ever publication, published by Thames & Hudson, the People of Print book. The results are visually stunning and these 25 limited-edition book sleeves also embrace the beauty of the imperfections of craftsmanship.

HTTPrint: Turn Your Browsing History into a Newspaper
HTTPrint is a new Google Chrome plugin that can turn your browsing history into a printable newspaper. ECAL design graduate Emilie Pillet, collects data on the websites you visit, including the URL, how long you spend on each site and the content you look at. The programme then transforms this data into graphs that are scaled to illustrate how long a page was viewed for, resulting in a print-on-demand newspaper.

We met Lawrence Slater at last years ELCAF, where he told us about his DIY home screen-print studio that he shares with his brother. We were fascinated by the process shots he sent us. Lawrence also dabbles in woodwork and is indeed one of those guys who like to tackle things themselves.

Posterzine The Poster Thats Also A Magazine
Posterzine is our latest publishing project and is where a poster meets a magazine a mini monograph magazine which folds out to reveal a gorgeous A1 format poster (594x841mm). Registered at the British Library as a magazine because of the way that it folds in on itself, Posterzine indeed strengthens relationships between the industries, brands, organisations and individuals through a series of crisp, articulate interviews and insights into talented and established professionals from around the world. It represents a refreshing departure from the traditional publishing models and is proof that print is very much alive and indeed thriving.

The Christmas Print Fayre 2015 at KK Outlet
In December 2015, we literally filled the walls at KK Outlet from top to bottom with top-notch prints created by artists and designers from across the globe. It was our first-ever Christmas Print Fayre and of course, we also included workshops, a Meal Ticket and talks by an excellent selection of speakers including Andrew Diprose of Wired, Caroline Whitehead of ELP, freelance graphic designer James Lunn and graphic designer and entrepreneur Andy Cooke.

Typograph.Journal
Created by graphic designer, publisher and printmaker Nicole Arnett Phillips, Typography Journal is a beautiful collection of typographic journals published with an aim to educate, challenge and engage designers. Nicoles love for letterforms and specialisation in editorial and book design resulted in her designing, writing and producing her own limited-edition printed journals which each take a conversational and experimental approach to the sometimes daunting world of typography theory.
