Launched during a workshop held at ECAL in 2014, Color Library is a database of colour profiles for artists, designers, photographers and printers who are looking for ‘a novel yet professional colour management solution’. Color Library offers a variety of colour combinations, from basic colours to metallics, neons and pastels. It provides special colour profiles that help you produce colour separations, turning a normal RGB (or CMYK) image into spot colours. To put it simply, with Color Library, designers, artists or anyone can convert and print images using two, three, four or five spot colours of your choice.
Color Library was initially developed for experimental purposes but now serves as a platform that distributes an innovative tool for creative professionals and also for students to learn about colour theory and management. Color Library uses the PANTONE Matching System but can be manually adapted for other types of ink. The files you create with Color Library are ready to be used for offset, screen-print, Risograph, and any other printing technology.
