Bardo 10 × 10 is a collaborative poster project created to celebrate the first ten years of Bardo Industries and the relationships that have shaped the studio’s practice. Rather than producing a retrospective or summary of past work, the project looks outward, using collaboration as both its subject and method. Built around a shared lettering structure and the word “Together,” the series brings together eight invited artist friends alongside the studio’s two partners, Laura Giraudo and Roberto Bernasconi.
The project emerged from a moment of reflection. Reaching ten years prompted the studio to consider how deeply collaboration has informed not only their output, but the sustainability of their practice itself. From the outset, the intention was to create something generative and open rather than commemorative. A single typographic framework became the point of departure, offering a common structure that each participant could reinterpret through their own voice, aesthetic, and perspective.
The constraint was deliberate. By asking every contributor to work within the same system, Bardo 10 × 10 explores how difference can exist within shared boundaries. Each poster responds to the idea of togetherness in its own way, while remaining connected to the same underlying form. Collectively, the series becomes a family of works that share the same bones but diverge in tone, texture, and meaning.
Each poster is silkscreened by hand in a limited edition of 50 copies and released weekly. This staggered rhythm allows each collaboration to have its own moment, while gradually building a larger narrative across time. As the series unfolds, the posters accumulate into a record of exchange rather than a single statement.
As Bardo Industries describe it, “Ten years of running a studio has only been possible through collaboration. This project is a way of acknowledging the people and relationships that shaped us, and of making space for many voices within a shared structure.”
The project also reflects a broader philosophy that underpins the studio’s approach to design. Collaboration is not treated as an occasional addition, but as a foundational way of working, thinking, and making decisions together. The shared structure of 10 × 10 creates room for trust, interpretation, and transformation.
