Mike Meyer is a sign painter from Mazeppa, a small rural town in Minnesota of approximately 700 habitants. His family has lived there through generations and thats why he chose it as the home for his business. Mike became interested in painting when he was only a child. He used to repaint model cars when the original paint started to fade away. When he was in his teens, he started to repaint stock cars and thats when the interest grew even more.
Having been working in the sign trade since 1978, Mike currently owns a small sign shop dedicated to quality craftsmanship which used to be an old Grocery Store that has the charm and old feel in which he really enjoys. He is an ambassador for the sign painting business through his active participation in the Letterheads movement and, in 2012, his talent and dedication was recognised through an appearance in the internationally-acclaimed film, Sign Painters.
Since 2013 he has travelled around the world, taking his lettering and signwriting workshop to cities in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Mike is part of the Better Letters group of lettering agents & signwriting contractors which also includes experts James Cooper, Harry Fieber and David Kynaston. Theyve worked for companies like Adidas, Shoreditch House and Next, and also educational institutions including Central St Martins, RMIT, TEC and TGM.
