The Private Press, run by Gary Parselle, is a contemporary screen-printing studio in Brighton, UK. Having featured the last Editions collection, this project continues to celebrate the screen printing process using a wide range of interesting techniques, inks and papers.
The beauty of screen printing is in its process. The (sometimes) huge amount of steps such as prepping and layering of colours can make up about 80% of the printing time, the other 20% being the actual printing. We got a sneak peek, through some stunning photography, into the process of how the Editions print series were made, from the gorgeous pigments of the inks to how they glide across the screen when printed. All photography is courtesy of Gary Parselle.
