Bristol-based Holy Moly, aka Carl Cozier, is a dedicated multi-disciplinary artist with a passion for vivid colour and contemporary pattern. Carl is also Head Of Design for the well-known immersive theatre, arts and music festival, Boomtown. The artist has just released the first piece in a new series of art prints on the subject of climbing. He tells us; “I love climbing, it quietens my busy mind. The other activity outside of creating artwork that really brings me peace. It is my meditation, at times my therapy as well as my exercise…It is also the reason I now have metal pins in my leg..”
The first print release in the series is Molly’s Wall, which is a collaboration with 5 time National Lead Climbing Champion Molly Thompson-Smith who provided Carl with some unique holds and walls to work with.
Carl states; “I find all the various holds in climbing centres really inspiring. It’s such a different experience to climbing outside. Instead of cliff faces and nature you’ve a sea of abstract plastic shapes in a myriad of vibrant colours”. He has captured this experience and accentuated it to the extreme, creating vibrant and pretty psychedelic images.
The artist is also looking to work with other pro climbers, so get in touch if you fit the bill!
Prints are available here in A3, A2, and A1 in a Limited Edition of 50 which are signed, numbered, and embossed.
