Printed Festival is coming back to Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff, for its second year from Saturday 8th to Sunday 9th June. Supported by Chapter Arts Centre, Print Wagon, and The Printhaus, Printed Festival is returning with an even bigger and better event this year thanks to funding from Arts Council of Wales.
Over the festival weekend all things print will be celebrated, with everyone encouraged to get involved in a huge range of family-friendly activities. This includes a ‘makers trail’ of print artists stalls weaving through the vicinity, a range of print activities such as Risograph and screen printing workshops, discussion panels, printmaking demonstrations, and more! Confirmed speakers so far include Tom Frost, Lena Yokoyama, and Rory Wyn, with the likes of Pressing Matters, Jamie Richards, and Isle of Riso showcasing their goods and wares.
This year, they will also be introducing a Printed Festival publication which will be released during the build-up to the event. It will include information on the participants, the community workshops, a map of the event, and some other exclusive print-related goodies too!
The festival operates with the aim to continue to build on the existing printmaking culture in South Wales by creating a new forum for artists, organisations, and educators alike. The festival set-up enables links to be made, resources to be shared, and serves as a basis of opportunity and participation for all involved.
Whether you are a practising artist, hobbyist, or a complete newcomer to print, Printed Festival is sure to have something to offer you – beautiful prints, the chance to create your own, perhaps a networking opportunity and much much more!
