Sergio Membrillas has gathered a year’s worth of concert posters into a single newspaper-format publication, creating what feels like both an archive and a snapshot of a specific moment in his practice. Produced under the name Office of Professional Illustration, the 24-page newspaper brings together posters designed for bands across the indie spectrum and beyond, including Róisín Murphy, U.S. Girls, and Dry Cleaning.
The collection moves between intimate gigs and globally recognised artists, tracing concerts held in London, Stockholm, Chicago, and Membrillas’ home city of Valencia. Seen together, the posters form a visual diary of travel, music culture, and graphic experimentation across cities and scenes.

Membrillas has long been interested in the fleeting nature of posters. Designed for a specific night, a specific venue, and a specific audience, they are inherently temporary objects. Wheat-pasted, pinned up, scrolled past, and eventually removed, they often disappear as quickly as the events they promote. This publication counters that ephemerality by preserving them collectively, allowing them to exist as a sustained body of work.
The decision to use a newspaper format is deliberate. Inspired in part by the bold editorial spirit of Interview Magazine, the format allows each poster to be experienced at its original scale. Rather than reducing the works to thumbnails or reproductions in a bound book, the large-format newspaper maintains their intended impact. Printed on high-quality 160 gsm paper, the publication balances tactility with durability, strong enough to frame individual spreads if desired.

As an object, the newspaper acts both as documentation and as an extension of the poster tradition itself. It retains the democratic, accessible quality of printed matter while elevating it through material choice and print finish. The result is not just a catalogue, but a collectible artefact of a year in music and design.
Sergio Membrillas works as a freelance illustrator and creative director for a wide range of international clients, including The New Yorker, Apple, The New York Times, The Economist, Le Monde, Wired, Pentagram, 4AD, Die Zeit, The Washington Post, Phaidon, Shopify, Monocle, and Adidas. Alongside his studio practice, he also teaches illustration at various institutions.
