Turkish artist Burak Delier has opened his UK debut show at INIVA (Institute of International Visual Arts). Its called Freedom Has No Script. The show features new work and a film commissioned by INIVA, all concerning the much-debated relationship between capitalism and art. Influenced by the political turbulence of Turkey in recent years and the Occupy Movement, Deliers work hangs in the balance of seriousness and witticism.
In response the Deliers exhibition, On Borrowed Time(s) is also at INIVA. It showcases the work of students and alumni from MA Photographic Studies, University of Westminster. Again it questions the paradoxical nature of capitalism, the artist and consumer culture. This show features Basil Al-Rawi, Xiaobo Fu, William Eckersley, Paula Gortázar, Wilf Speller, Jan Stradtmann and Maria Tzili.
