Last Thursday we went along to the launch of #Cardpress which was a collaboration between Print Club London and Urban Cottage Industries. Both companies have their heart and soul in traditional printing techniques, which made for a really amazing, educational and fun evening. Together they hosted a party at MC Motor situated next door to Print Club, and invited friends and fans down to get inky and see a Linotype machine working. Over 800 people came down to drink mojitos and Brew Dog beers, eat pizza and watch as Phi, Dave,Stan and all the master UCI technicians showed the audience the ropes of a Linotype. The machines were a spectacle and the evening was incredible.
The greeting cards have been produced using illustrations first shown as an editioned silkscreen print handmade in the Print Club London studios. They are now being released for the first time as letterpress prints created by Urban Cottage Industries using their fine collection of print machinery. Designs by Pure Evil, Alice Stallard, James Joyce, Margaux Carpentier, Anthony Peters and our very own Creative Director Rose Stallard are available to buy online. Their range will be expanding shortly and some of your favourite illustrations will potentially soon be available as cards.
