Qingyu Wu (Q)

Qingyu Wu (aka Q) is a graphic designer, krautrock lover, and cult film dedicated fan based in New York City. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Virginia Commonwealth University and an MFA in 2D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art. She has lectured at the Art Center College of Design and Parsons School of Design. Q works predominantly in the medium of large-scale installations and print design.

Her work focuses on the universality of graphic design and the similarities between different cultures and languages, within typography specifically. The designer is mostly interested in researching the common threads between cultures and visualizing these relationships through experimental design. This helps her community by starting a conversation with other cultures that would otherwise be ignored.
