On Friday I attended The annual Pick Me Up illustration show at Somerset House. As usual it was packed with talent and thriving with people checking out this years work. I have put together some features of personal highlights of the show. This first post covers the work of Jack Hudson.
Working from East London for clients such as Google, The Body Shop and Channel 4, Jack Hudson has lent his colourfully retro style to a wide range of clients. Inspired by Honey I Shrank The Kids, Hudsons brand new work on display at Pick Me Up imagines tiny characters interacting with cacti and plates of jelly among other objects. The playful images feature Jack hudsons brand of intricate drawing and strong colour palettes. Personal favourite, the Jelly features characters jumping around on the bouncy surface. The translucency is spot on too.
Check out Jack Hudsons site online for more of his quirky work playing with playing with scale and composition.
