Alexander Valva is the creative mind behind Omamori Prints. In his day job as a food stylist Alex has an eye for aesthetics and details, and through lino printing he can also implement these characteristics.
Originally trained as a chef, and having worked as a food stylist for 12 years, Alex opened his Etsy store back in September 2022 after falling in love with the excitement and creativity that comes from lino printing.

Omamori Prints are inspired by Alex’s surroundings and countries, covering everything from nature to ornaments. He recently worked on his first multi-colour prints, and some of his favourite print creations are Ganesha and Douglas Fir.

Ale’x prints are always planned precisely. He often sketches his motifs digitally, then prints them out with a laser printer before transferring the printout to a linoleum plate with photo transfer. Alex enjoys using oil based inks and high quality papers, and he has even created some handmade paper himself! Printing is then done with his printing press from Woodzilla.

Looking to the future, Alex is keen to keep creating more nature-inspired works, as well as print more trees and experiment with working in smaller formats.
