Ed Templeton has delved deep into his photography archive of 20 years, to select a collection of images for his latest book, Wayward Cognitions. This particular collection doesn’t fit into his usual manner of organizing by theme or subject, for instance, his previous publications were simplified themes like Teenage Smokers and Teenage Kissers. If you are a fan of Ed Templeton or follow him on Instagram, you will know that he has a camera with him wherever he goes; Wayward Cognitions is a collection of photographs from shooting in the streets without a theme or subject. Its about looking, people watching, finding pleasure in the visual vignettes we glimpse each day.
This publication is 160 pages of visual pleasure, bound into a 8×10.75inch hardback book. Published by Thomas Campbells Um Yeah Arts. It was printed in Ed’s own darkroom and put together in his home studio, it “embodies the raw aesthetics of a zine yet presented in ornamental hardback form.”
