George Wheeler is a designer that recently graduated from Nottingham Trent university and has recently relocated to London, where he has been working on personal projects and undertaking a series of internships. The versatile designer has a particularly interesting portfolio demonstrating his diverse skill set and interests in branding, advertising and typography. I was particularly impressed by Wheeler’s willingness to experiment with both his materials and the contexts in which they are applied, I got in touch to find out the designers reflection on this who explained “I have always enjoyed experimenting with alternative materials in my work, having used translucent resins, olive oil and taxidermic beetles in past projects. Using these has often has unpredictable results but when results look great I find it twice as rewarding. Also I’d say that my work often has an element of interactivity about it, I have always liked the idea that design can be personal to every user.”
