Tallulah Fontaine’s images are striking in their simplicity. She mostly sticks to a palette of muted pastel colours that perfectly matches the minimalist images she creates. Hailing from Toronto, Fontaine creates zines, jewellery and prints whilst running ‘Home Zine Collective’ with fellow artist Carla McRae.

In creating enamel pins and jewellery featuring her designs, Fontaine’s drawings become tangible. Wearable designs add a new dimension to illustrations that may otherwise sit on a shelf or a wall. The monochrome ‘Truest One’ and ‘Girl’ enamel pins would make a welcome addition to any outfit, whereas the ‘Maddy Moth’ and ‘Hand Offering’ signet rings are available for more special occasions. Since the rings are made by hand in collaboration with Canadian jeweller Ali Munn, each piece is entirely unique.

Fontaine has created work for various publications, including Glamour Magazine, Paulette Magazine and ArtAsiaPacific. She has produced work for several musicians, including merchandise for Purity Ring’s Autumn 2016 tour.

Fontaine recently released a risograph comic, ‘Madonna Inn: Everything Nice’ printed by Colour Code. Sold as a limited, hand-numbered run of 50, this comic showcases Fontaine’s talent for saying a great deal with such minimalist images.
