On Wednesday evening we made our way to The Saatchi to see the work of Darrell Hawkins in the Prints and Originals Gallery. This rising star is a British born contemporary artist who’s skills span from painting and drawing to screen printing and beyond. By the time the show had opened for the private view, he had already sold 12 of his paintings! We loved the evening and it’s great to see the process of screen printing being used in this manner, mixing painting with layers of screen print and more layers of paint. Each one of the prints have been hand finished, signed and numbered by the man himself. The show is on until 24th August, and is highly recommended.
