Gradspotters is here to help emerging printmakers make their mark on the industry. Applications are currently open for 2023 graduates who have a keen interest and eye for print-orientated work. With perks including social media shares and blog articles, as well as personalised mentorship and exclusive goodies, Gradspotters is the platform to forge your future in the print industry.
Below, we check out the work of one of our incredible applicants so far, Cait Earnshaw, and hope to inspire you to get involved too!
Cait is a designer, printmaker, and creative from Yorkshire who recently graduated in Graphic Design from Manchester School of Art. With a background in graphics, art, and literature, she’s passionate about printed matter and enjoys embracing analogue printing processes in her work.
One of her submitted projects, Conflicted, is a series of Risograph printed pocket-sized zines and a supporting short film which visualise the internal conflict between opposing opinions in a person’s internal dialogue when making decisions, even the most trivial ones. The zines are a cohesive set which read from both sides. Bright colours and angular type and shapes poke fun at the overwhelming feeling you experience when making a big decision. The small size of the zines (A7) reflects how seemingly trivial and ‘small’ the proposed dilemmas are.
