‘42 Faces (Purple & Green)‘ is POP Member, Liam Ashley Clark’s, most recent screen print release, and his first in quite a while.

It was made as a part of Well Nice’s ‘Print Shop’ which sees them work with artists to produce screen printed editions without upfront costs, instead the edition is split between the artist and Well Nice for each to sell.
Well Nice is an eco friendly, independent screen printing studio based in Norwich, UK. Our screen printing technicians have combined printing experience of over 30 years and have a prestigious list of local and national clients.

The work is a two-layer screen-print, the first being a two-colour mono-printed layer, followed by the black detail. The mono print layer consists of green and purple inks drizzled over the screen, meaning each print is unique in its pattern.
The ‘faces’ image has been a recurring theme throughout a lot of Liam’s work, occupying paintings, murals, and other design work. He often paints a selection of characters in grids, like this image, but with each face having a different colour background. This is the first time he has made a screen print with these kinds of characters on it. As he couldn’t really make each face its own colour with screen printing… “I decided on doing the mono print background, so not only is each print individual, but also each character in the image.”

It is an edition of 30, numbered and signed, printed on Woodstock Betulla 270gsm (A2)
The print is available to buy from his Etsy here.
