We love receiving packages in the post…even more so when they have travelled half way around the world from like-minded, passionate print lovers! Our package from Nicole Arnett Phillips was a beautiful collection of typographic journals, written by designers for designers.
Firstly, we have to mention the beautiful packaging of the Typograph.Journals, so nice in fact that we didn’t want to unwrap them. Luckily the package inside didn’t disappoint. The brainchild of Nicole Arnett Phillips – designer, typographer, publisher and printmaker, the journals are simply born from her love of traditional printed media. Her love for letterforms and specialisation in editorial and book design resulted in her designing, writing and producing her own limited edition printed journals. They each take a conversational and experimental approach to the sometimes daunting world of typography theory, with the aim to educate, challenge and engage readers. The journals are easy to read with snippets of information, longer form text and interviews with design professionals. The three journals which launched in mid 2014 feature the likes of Stefan Sagmeister, The Counter Press, Jessica Hische and David Wolske to name a few. We think the journals are a perfect tool for designers at all levels for exploring the world of typography, and are great full to Nicole to taking us into her creative look into the typographic world.
