Dungarees + Squeegees (D+S) create limited edition screen-printed T-shirts using water-based inks and organic T-shirts. Many of the designs are illustrated by the studio’s co-founder, Joey, who has an evident love of plants. She finds her inspiration through her vast collection of indoor plants; her favourites being the monsteras due to the sheer variety and sizes of the leaves.
D+S works collectively with numerous other designers and printmakers. One of their best-selling T-shirts ranges are their emotional cats series which is made by designer Daisy Stimpson. Originally a set of lino prints they have been developed into t-shirts to suit every mood.
At the heart of D+S is an aim to be as eco-conscious as possible to ensure that what is made is suitable for people and the planet throughout the print’s life cycles. They use 100% organic cotton t-shirts which are GOTS certified and Vegan Approved, and their printing process uses eco-friendly water-based inks and is powered by renewable energy.
The studio also love to create screenprints for other creatives. One of these illustrators is Nottingham-based Ellastrated, who creates playful, creative designs that are perfect for printing.
