Hannah Durham is the printmaker and illustrator behind a studio, somewhere. Based in Wales, she began exploring her creative practice in 2021 and found her love for printmaking after attending Risograph and screen printing courses at The Printhaus in Cardiff, where she is now a member. Working primarily from her home studio, Hannah focuses on relief printing and screen printing, as well as mixed media illustration. Her work can defined by her use of lots of colour and texture which she creates using inks, pencils, wax pastels, and brush pens.
Hannah’s work is inspired by the small joys found in every day life, the awe and abundance of nature and, more recently, the vibrancy and fun found in food. She loves creating colourful, textured pieces that capture moments through placement, layering, and movement.
Her process is led by a mixture of inspiration and consistent practice. Hannah embraces the freedom found in moving between creating hand carved block prints, handprinted textiles, vibrant screen prints, and loose, expressive mixed media illustrations.
Looking to the future of a studio, somewhere, Hannah is excited to continue developing her skills as a printmaker and illustrator while building a portfolio filled with dream work and clients. She hopes to work on more product packaging (especially for coffee!), magazine illustrations, murals, and colourful collaborations with brands.
