Driven by a desire to bring photographs to life, photographer Evelien Jaspers has started exploring the spatial value of still images, trying out different methods in order to transform them into compelling sculptural works. A Recent graduate from Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, Jaspers has always treated photography as an object with a strong belief that a two-dimensional print is never enough. Experiments carried out by Jaspers include cutting, folding and combining photographs with different materials. This way, viewers are encouraged to touch and feel the work instead of just looking at it.
