Marcelina Konstancja Giesa, aka MKGiesa_art, is a Polish artist currently living in the Netherlands. Art has been in Marcelina’s life for many years. She started with drawing and digital art, and slowly continued to develop her practice to include other mediums; sculpture, woodcarving (toys and small items), painting, and printmaking. The latter of which is her favourite medium.
She has a small printmaking studio in her living room where she develops her passion for printmaking and carves and prints her projects from lino. Inspiration for Marcelina’s work comes from fantasy, magic and magical animals, death, nature, people, weather, and music.
Together with printmaking, Marcelina also loves to practice analogue photography. She is a beginner with black and white 35mm film, in both shooting and developing. In the future she hopes to go on a more experimental journey with her photography. Marcelina is currently working on a project that combines her two great passions by photographing her printmaking process.
She concludes; “The world can not exist without art… the world without the beauty and magic of different art would be the saddest place to exist”.
