Pemika Lewchalermwong (Bell) is a Bangkok-based graphic illustrator, and the face behind SOURPEMI. A Graphic Design graduate, Bell started her career as a graphic designer before later discovering a passion for illustration and brand design. In 2022, she established SOURPEMI as a space for her illustration practice, experimenting with different frameworks and surroundings.

As SOURPEMI, Bell’s illustrations convey accessible narratives through the use bold lines and a dynamic colour palette, creating a balance between chaos and neatness. Humour is a vital component to her visuals, and is infused throughout through her “awkwardly fun” style. Her artworks are predominantly creating digitally, as according to Bell, it allows her to “deliver messages quickly while maintaining quality control”. A vivid use of colour also defines her work, and Bell enjoys exploring different combinations in order to visually to enhance her work.
In 2023, Bell participated in the Bangkok Art Book Fair as an illustrator for the first time. She comments; “It was an amazing opportunity to connect with creative people who share a love for design and print. The vibrant atmosphere reinforced my passion for working with printed media.”

Beyond SOURPEMI, Bell works at Capital; a business media platform with a lifestyle approach. Here, she works as a deputy Art Director, using graphic design and illustration to visually enhance content communication. Some of her highlight projects here have included creating posters for the Editor’s Pick column, where Capital’s friends selected their favourite products based on a given theme (e.g., Lunar New Year’s red-themed products or favourite recycled items for Global Recycling Day). She has also created artwork for Bon Appétit (a podcast exploring business within the kitchen and food cycle), and ทรัพย์คัลเจอร์ (pronounced Sub-Culture, a podcast about businesses that shape subcultures). Add to Cart was another standout project, which involved designing posters inspired by video interviews, where each brand introduced its highlight product for a curated shopping cart.

Aside from her personal practice, collaboration is also an important aspect to her creativity, and she has worked with clients to create key visuals tailored to each theme. Notable projects have included Beer People Festival 2024, for which she developed the key visual for the Beer People Country theme, and a collaboration between STUDIO150 and Labtwentyfour titled Gorhor, for which Bell contributed a set of illustrations for a Thai alphabet flashcard set for kids.
Since discovering her favourite style in 2022, Bell has been eager to expand her practice across digital, print, and material-based formats. This year, she plans to launch a physical print project and a new merchandise collection—stay tuned!
