For Ghost Bros Photo Co, based in Leith, Edinburgh, this is not just a method but a philosophy. Their work deals in crowded imagery, deliberately seeking out the busy scene rather than the clean composition, and finding in that density something worth looking at.
Much of their photography has been taken at protests in Edinburgh, which makes the double exposure approach particularly apt. A protest is already an overlapping of bodies, voices, causes and presence: a crowd that is also a statement, a scene that resists being reduced to a single clear image.
