Anthony Leblicq | Flash Project

posted by POP Members September 12, 2024

Anthony Leblicq is a visual artist whose work exists at the crossroads of past and present, analogue and digital, and photography and collage. As a self-taught artist, he has developed a strong artistic signature over more than 25 years, constantly reinventing the codes of Pop Art, Street Art, and contemporary collage. Inspired by American culture from the 50s to the 60s, Anthony draws from visual archives that he revitalises through dynamic and contrasting compositions. He blends nostalgic black-and-white images with vibrant modern colours and forms, creating a captivating dialogue between past and future.

Anthony’s creative process is fundamentally one of reinvention. Starting with images he collects, often from bygone eras, he transforms them through collage, combining analogue and digital techniques. This process results in original screen prints, produced in ultra-limited editions (1 to 20 pieces), ensuring the exclusivity and uniqueness of each artwork. By resuming screen printing classes at the Academy of Fine Arts in Charleroi, Anthony has refined his craft, merging technical precision with boundless creativity.

A central aspect of his approach is the fusion of contrasting elements: he juxtaposes vintage photographs with bold, contemporary touches, creating artworks that captivate the viewer with their visual depth. Each piece is the result of a thoughtful and deliberate process, where every element finds its place to tell a story, evoke emotion, and spark reflection.

Anthony has recently launched an innovative screen printing project; Flash Project. The project consists of unique 5-in-1 DIY art kits. Each kit, which is presented in a pouch, includes three original A3 screen prints, each made with the attention to detail and bold style that defines his work. The innovation also lies in the packaging itself, which transforms into both positive and negative stencils, offering a new way to engage with Anthony’s art.

This project goes beyond DIY as it extends Anthony’s own creative universe. By using the stencils, collectors can create two additional artworks, blending their own vision with his. The Flash Project is limited to 1000 pouches, with 600 series of 5 prints randomly distributed among them. Each pouch is individually numbered, and buyers will also have the chance to participate in a lottery to win one of his 95 cm chrome lightning bolts, valued at €1500.

Anthony has already made 300 pouches, and hopes to finish the rest by the end of this year. Get yours here.
