Beginning its journey in South Korea as an underground zine publisher and screenprinting studio is new People of Print Member, Miniprint. Founded by creative duo printmaker Samantha Blumenfeld and illustrator Albert Che, the absence of creative culture in South Korea inspired the pair to devote their time into building, and we mean literally building their specialised print studio.

Due to South Korea lacking the culture associated with DIY printing, materials and supplies are difficult to acquire. By hand-making all of their equipment, and later their studio, they were able to establish themselves in the community as a specialized print studio devoted to fine art screenprinting. From there they’ve been able to run workshops with other talented printmakers, hold classes, engage in community out-reach of art and print, as well as mentor and provide vocational training to marginalized youth. We can’t wait to see what they do next!
